Bottom line.Magic Bookmark has shipped twelve versions on the US App Store since its version history begins on 20 August 2026, roughly one every six days. The October releases added a flow for finishing a book and moving to the next, then audiobook support ("Now with audiobook support: get spoiler-free recaps for any book format", version 1.1.1, 27 October 2026). It is a young, fast-moving app with a small number of ratings: 4.8 out of 5 from 25 ratings on 3 November 2026.

What changed for readers?

Two things matter in practice.

First, audiobooks. Before October, Magic Bookmark worked from a photo of a printed or ebook page, or a typed page number. Now you can also enter the last phrase you heard in an audiobook, and the recap, cast list and answers stop at that point. Our audiobook support note covers how that works, and the guide to switching formats mid-book shows how to combine it with a tracker.

Second, finishing a book. A flow for wrapping up a finished book and moving to your next read arrived in the October updates, which suits series readers who go straight from one volume to the next.

What does a fast release pace mean?

Frequent updates in the first months are normal for a new app and usually mean bugs fixed quickly and features arriving often. They also mean things change: screenshots, prices and supported titles can shift between our checks. We re-check the listing at least monthly while the pace stays like this, and the Magic Bookmark page always shows the date we last checked.

The ratings base is still small. 4.8 out of 5 from 25 ratings (24 on 27 October) tells you early users are happy; it is not enough to say much about how the app handles your particular books. The first book is free, so testing it on the title you are reading is the better check. Our lesson on reading an App Store listing explains how to read version histories and ratings for any app.

How does this compare with the trackers?

Established trackers update less often and change less with each release. That is not a mark against either: a mature tracker and a young recap tool are at different stages. If you want to follow changes across all nine apps, our news page logs them by date.
