Privacy Policy

This page explains, in plain terms, what happens to personal data when you read Best Book Tracker Apps or send us a message. The short version: very little is collected, and nothing is used for advertising.
Who is responsible
Best Book Tracker Apps, at bestbooktrackerapps.com, is published by Alegria Media and Consulting Ltd. ("we", "us"). We are the controller of the personal data described here. You can reach us through the contact form.
What we collect
The site has no user accounts, no payments and no comments. You can read every page and use the calculator and comparison tools without giving us any personal data. The tools run in your browser and store nothing about you: they do not write cookies, localStorage or sessionStorage.
Contact form. If you write to us, we receive the name, email address, topic and message you enter. For a copyright notice we also receive the details the form asks for, such as the work concerned, the URL and your electronic signature.
Hosting logs. Our hosting provider automatically records technical data when a page is requested: IP address, browser and device details, the page requested and the time. This is used to deliver, operate and secure the site.
Google Fonts. Pages load their typefaces from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com). When the fonts load, Google receives your IP address and browser details. This is the only third-party request the site makes.
We do not run analytics, advertising scripts, tracking pixels or social media embeds.
Why we use it and our legal basis
Under the GDPR and UK GDPR we rely on our legitimate interests to operate and secure the site, to load its fonts and to read and answer your messages. Where the law requires consent, we ask for it and you can withdraw it at any time.
International transfers
Our providers may process data outside your country. Where that happens we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses. We are based in Israel, which has an adequacy decision from the European Commission.
How long we keep it
We keep contact messages for as long as we need them to handle your request, and then delete them. Hosting logs are kept for a limited period set by the hosting provider.
Your rights
EU and UK. You can ask for access to your data, correction, deletion, restriction of use, or a portable copy; you can object to our use of it and withdraw consent; and you can complain to your data protection supervisory authority.
California. Under the CCPA as amended by the CPRA you can ask to know what we hold, to delete it and to correct it. You can opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, although we do neither. We will not treat you differently for using these rights.
Israel. Under the Israeli Privacy Protection Law you can ask to see the information we hold about you and to have it corrected or deleted.
To make a request, use the contact form and choose "Privacy request". We may ask you to confirm details so we can verify the request.
Children
The site is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.
Changes to this policy
If we change how the site handles data, we will update this page and the date at the top. See also our Cookie Policy.
